The wonderful Silvercoin from the Masters of Art series in the form of a painting depicts one of the most famous paintings by Raphael Santi - the Sistine Madonna. It is the transfer of the painting to the silver "canvas" that numismatics pays tribute to the 500th anniversary of the death of this outstanding Italian artist. Solomon Islands has become an exhibiting region.
The reverse of the coin faithfully depicts the Virgin Mary (Madonna) holding an infant Jesus in her arms while standing on a cloud in front of an open curtain. In the clouds before her knees St. Sixtus on the left and St. Barbora on the right. The Madonna, as the embodiment of nobility and humanity, seems to descend from heaven and Pope Sixtus II. in deep respect he suggests the path from the clouds to the ground, while St. Barbora glares at a pair of angels leaning against the lower frame of the painting with bored expressions on their faces. The obverse of the coin bears the traditional portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the name of the issuer's country, the year of minting and the denomination of the issue.
The painting was commissioned from Raphael by Benedictines from the monastery of San Sisto in Piacenza. Part of the brief was that the picture should be both St. Sixtus, i.e. St. Barbara, because the monastery was dedicated to both saints. Raphael created the work for the monastery as an altarpiece. He painted this oil painting shortly before his death, around 1513/1514. It was the last Madonna and at the same time the last painting that he completed with his own hand.

Diese wundervolle Silbermünze aus der Serie Masters of Art in Form eines Gemäldes aus dem Jahr 2014 zeigt eines der berühmtesten Gemälde von Raphael Santi - die Sixtinische Madonna. Es ist die Übertragung des Gemäldes auf die silberne "Leinwand", die die Numismatik den 500. Todestag dieses herausragenden italienischen Künstlers würdigt. Die Rückseite der Münze zeigt die Maria (Madonna) und Jesus, den sie in ihren Armen hält, während sie auf einer Wolke vor einem offenen Vorhang steht. In den Wolken vor ihren Knien befand sich St. Sixtus auf der linken Seite und St. Barbora rechts. In tiefem Respekt schlägt er den Weg von den Wolken zum Boden ein, während St. Barbora ein Paar Engel ansieht, die sich mit gelangweiltem Gesichtsausdruck gegen den unteren Rahmen des Gemäldes lehnen. Die Vorderseite der Münze trägt das traditionelle Porträt Ihrer Majestät Königin Elizabeth II. Den Namen des Landes des Emittenten, das Jahr der Prägung und den Nennwert der Ausgabe.
Das Gemälde wurde von Benediktinern aus einem Kloster in Auftrag gegeben. Das Kloster war 2 Heiligen gewidmet. Raffael schuf das Werk für das Kloster als Altarbild. Er malte dieses Ölgemälde kurz vor seinem Tod, um 1513/1514. Es war die letzte Madonna und gleichzeitig das letzte Gemälde, das er mit seiner eigenen Hand fertigstellte.
